Association of Concert Bands Member Benefits

By being a member of the ACB, you help support ACB activities and projects such as:


  • Encourage and foster adult concert community, municipal, and civic bands

  • Promote performance of the highest quality traditional and contemporary literature for bands

  • Advocate on a national scale


All members receive a subscription to the ACB Journal magazine and periodic, informational mailings, voting privileges, participation in annual convention and convention band, and access to the ACB Membership Directory and other publications online (hard copies available upon request).

Annual ACB convention

  • Held in a different location each year and hosted by a member band    (River City Concert Band in 2015!)

  • Band directors, members and managers, as well as music history leaders, administrators, and board members, meet to exchange personal views and share experiences

  • Educational seminars and clinics

  • Participate in the convention band led by well-known conductors

  • Performance by selected community bands

  • Networking among professional and fellow community band musicians


ACB Journal

  • Published three times per year

  • Exchange of information among people involved in adult concert bands

  • Articles about and by band people

  • Band CD reviews, new music reviews

  • Information on music conventions, tours, adult band camps, festivals, and travel opportunities

ACB Band Builder’s Manual and other helpful documents

  • Provides information on the establishment, funding, development and maintenance, and promotion of adult bands


Organizational Member Benefits

  • In addition to all member benefits stated above, organizational members have the opportunity to purchase an annual blanket performance license and an extremely reduced rate, and can register up to four band members for the annual CB convention.

  • Performance rights to ACB dues-paying Organizational Members for annual fee of $225

  • Corporate Member Benefits


In addition to all member benefits stated above, corporate members are listed on our web site, may send one mailing per year to ACB members, and have the opportunity to purchase advertisements in the ACB Journal at a reduced rate.
