Heading 1

The Gold Country Band performs music at senior living facilities in Placer County. Our mission is to share the joy and gift of music.

Music selections are focused on our senior audiences, and we play and sing happy, optimistic tunes that bring back fond memories.

The Auburn-based band began in 1985 as a class for seniors through the Placer School for Adults. The 14-person group was led by a piano player, and the members played kazoos and various noise-making> instruments. Fast forward through the years . . . the Band's roster now includes concert band instruments plus a piano and vocal soloists.

The Band averages 16 members, all friendly people who enjoy a fulfilling music-making environment. The instrumentalists and singers> come from many Placer County and Sacramento County communities. Each person brings something special to the Band.

Band rehearsals and performances are on Monday mornings. If you are> interested in playing with the Band, click here for information about> auditions and our current needs for instrumentalists or vocalists.

If you would like to attend a rehearsal, please call 916-622-0677 or e-mail maryrose@wavecable.com. The Band's two Co-Conductors are: Becky Dugan (euphonium/trombone) who makes excellent arrangements specifically for the Band; and David Meyer (flute, also a talented bass guitarist).
