Our Mission


It is the SVSBA’s mission to support symphonic band music education and performance in the greater Sacramento area.  In particular, the SVSBA supports community bands and other affiliated musical ensembles, providing an opportunity for musicians to continue their musical education and experiences.


The SVSBA encourages all member bands and individuals to join the Association of Concert Bands. Read more at www.acbands.org for a listing of ACB benefits.

  • Sponsors an annual symphonic band festival in Carmichael.

  • Provides money to support community concert needs.

  • Provides scholarships for private lessons to needy students.

  • Sponsors an annual youth solo artist scholarship.

Middle School Music Lessons Scholarship Update

Application deadline for the 2021/2022 scholarships have been extended to June 30th, 2022. Applications for the 2022/23 season will be accepted July 1st - December 31st. Click here for details.
